5/26 Praise Update on GCBC Re-Gathering in June
5Ephesians 3:20–4:3 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. 1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (NASB)
We are very encouraged to share the news that churches may soon begin re-gathering for worship in groups of up to 100! The announcement from our State is a great answer to prayer and is beyond what we asked or thought (and more numbers than many other States that have reopened at this stage), so let's give God the glory! And, let's also do what Ephesians 4:1-3 says about, humbly, gently, patiently, lovingly forbearing and peacefully pursuing unity as we plan to meet legally and safely (within country and county guidelines we'll share more about soon).
Note: El Dorado County officials will be interacting with pastors regarding local churches and local guidelines tomorrow afternoon which will give more clarity on the next steps.
For those of you who missed last Sunday night's Q&A we would encourage you to watch or listen to it here at this link for more context on how we are pursuing regathering and our initial answer to questions many have in relation to that.
As we shared in the above Q&A, we are continuing plans for GCBC meeting Sunday AM June 7th, with additional service(s) that same day as needed. We will continue to live-stream for those who won't be attending in person yet. We also mentioned we would be open to and eager to have an outdoor praise night gathering sooner if possible, to be announced soon. This is all Lord-willing and pending safety parameters and other protocols being in place, which for now are easier to accommodate by meeting outdoors.
PRAYER
We recognize there are many questions on your mind (and ours!). We should have more answers from our county officials tomorrow, but let's praise God for how He has already answered prayers! And let's be in prayer for the various teams and plans and keep our eyes on Christ as we look forward to re-gathering soon with God's people for God's glory!
