Come All You Unfaithful?

Is there a call to worship also for those who feel unfaithful, weak and unstable, or alone in these times? We've loved this newer song by Sovereign Grace (spinning off of "Come All Ye Faithful") that calls all to come, not just those who "have it together" (which none of us do, even if we act like it!).

The video below shows the faces of people in various ages and stages and struggles of life. Notice as they come and begin to sing how it changes them - a picture to help us see what God has done and does as we come to worship. Christ meets us where we are but doesn't leave us there. The call to worship is to all those who in spite of their unfaithfulness, cannot nullify the faithfulenss of God who loves to save and sustain sinners.

Here's the lyrics:

O come, all you unfaithful
Come, weak and unstable
Come, know you are not alone

O come, barren and waiting ones
Weary of praying, come
See what your God has done

Christ is born; Christ is born!
Christ is born, for you.

O come, bitter and broken
Come with fears unspoken
Come, taste of His perfect love

O come, guilty and hiding ones
There is no need to run
See what your God has done

He's the Lamb who was given
Slain for our pardon
His promise is peace
For those who believe

So come, though you have nothing
Come, He is the offering
Come, see what your God has done

Be sure to watch the video here, which will also help you prepare to sing it in worship this Lord's Day. It's not a parody of the classic carol, but is a serious and sweet call for sinners and strugglers to come to the One who has come for us!

This Christmas season, let's come to worship Him who says "Come to me all you who are weary, burdened, and heavy laden, and I will give you rest ... for your soul." And a few verses later "A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out ... In His name the nations will put their hope" (Matthew 11:2812:20-21).
