INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

• Life Groups We desire to grow more home groups in the future. For now, we are prayerfully considering how to raise up additional leaders in this ministry. If you would like to open up your home a couple evenings a month to host a group as there is a need and would like more information, please let Pastor Corey know at pastorcorey@gcb.church 

• Heart to Heart: A new ministry for moms with pre-k kids (Older kids who are homeschooled are also welcome to attend). There are opportunities and needs in this ministry: child care workers for nursery - preschool, as well as older kids if they come, and there’s a need for substitute child care workers as well. The meetings will take place 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month. Targeting January 2022 for start. If interested in serving contact Liz Pino at jnepino@icloud.com 

• Short-Terms Mission to Utah (evangelism to Mormons) we are working on dates for a short term trip to Utah with Joseph Haller (Utah Partnerships for Christ) in the summer of 2022. • Jail Ministry Mike and Becky Cote will begin serving as the El Dorado County Jail Chaplain team in the coming weeks. Prayer that the jails would “open up” for this ministry to kick off, and for how GCBC might be involved in teaching bible studies. Those in serving in this way can contact Mike & Becky Cote at mcote@goldcountrybaptist.org 

DEACON NOMINEES IN PROCESS: 

Last year our church brought on Neil Wilkendorf and Robin Haller as Deacons. Sean Downey was brought forward last year as a prospective deacon in training and the Elders have continued to work with him this year and are encouraged as we continue to do so. In addition to Sean Downey there are three other men we’ve begun working with as prospective deacons. We have been encouraged by them and are bringing their names forward for your consideration and input as well: Jason Hill, Josh Pino, & Huston Swift. 

Please pray for these four men who are prospective deacons. Continue to get to know them and, if you have any concerns or areas you believe the Elders should be working on with these men in light of 1 Timothy 3:8-13 between now and December, please share those with an elder so we can prayerfully consider your thoughts.
