Waiting for the Lord
Lamentations 3:25-26, this weekend's fighter verse says "The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly..."
The Lamentations 3 passage goes on to say there can be good in bearing a yoke, or sitting alone in silence at times (v. 27-28), as we hope in God as our portion, our sufficiency (v. 24). "Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the LORD! Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven" (v. 40-41). I've needed this time to do that, it's been good for me and my family even though we wouldn't thave chosen this. We don't know when all of this will end but we can trust His mercies never come to an end and will be new every morning in God's great faithfulness (v. 22-23).
This website gives a great devotional and helpful resources to encourage you in the fight of faith (including options to hear verse set to song to help memorize as well).
